In a world where every app is trying to get you to stare at a screen for longer — we're doing the opposite. We're a stealth startup creating a new form of immersive audio-first entertainment that gets you OFF your devices and having magical IRL experiences with other people. Our audio product does what VR always hoped to do -- rich shared-world adventures that immerse you in a cinematic fiction in your own home.

Our mission is to create more empathy, communication, and passion in the world through play. We're creating an entirely new medium somewhere between game, theater, audio, video, and Disneyland — and working with some of the best entertainment talent in the world to pull it off.

Our startup merges the best of the technology and entertainment worlds. We're led by Jonathan Wegener (Timehop founder, Snapchat designer) and Benj Pasek (Oscar/Tony/Grammy winner for La La Land, The Greatest Showman, and Dear Evan Hansen) and backed by an incredible group of investors including the founders of Oculus, HQ Trivia, Tinder, Google Photos, Tumblr, EventBrite, Venmo, GroupMe, MakeSpace and more.

As our first FT designer and third product-team hire, you'll have a ton of impact — both on how the product looks/feels/functions — but also in the design culture we build together. Longer term, you'll have the opportunity to build and grow our design team.

Who you are

• You are a mobile first designer with cross-medium experience. You're strong with mobile UI and ideally have rich media experiences working in audio, video, AR/VR, games, etc. You enjoy working across mediums and feel comfortable with a wide swatch of production and prototyping tools (Framer, Origami, Principle, etc.)
• You are a visual thinker. You jump straight to mockups/sketches/prototypes to express your ideas. You're a visual/auditory thinker and builder who designs interfaces so simple, they seem obvious in retrospect.
• You flourish in a startup environment. You are comfortable in an early stage environment where we act quickly with incomplete information versus thinking through every edge case. You are energized by the idea of working on a brand new product category despite infinite open questions and few historical examples to reference. You're comfortable covering a huge swatch of responsibility at a small startup where we all wear many hats.

What you will do

• You will help create something entirely new. As our first design hire, you'll touch every piece of the product and help create a new product category.
• Own UI/UX/prototyping and user testing. You'll work across Sketch, Figma, After Effects, Framer, and run users-tests to make sure our designs are intuitive and easy.
• Manage visual designers. Find, hire, and manage amazing visual talent to make our product shine!
• You will help us grow. You will be a key resource as the company grows. You will help build and shape our future design team.

We're a distributed team and this a full-time role for folks living in the USA/Canada time zones. As an early employee, you'll get significant stock/equity and be responsible for helping create an entirely new product category the world has never seen before.
